"The whole essence of good engineering is simplicity." - Grover Cleveland Loening

RESEARCH FOCUS

We live in a world where we tend to make situations more complex than it should be; and, fail to embrace simple solutions. Our patient-centered, and nano medicine based cancer research and investment thesis is based on a simple fact - the global medical community has failed to develop effective therapies for cancer.

So, what are we exploring?

We are re-thinking the fundamentals at understanding and commercializing ways to diagnose and cure cancer.

EMPOWERING EARLY DIAGNOSTICS

In some parts of the world, cancer survival rate is as low as 22%, compared to just over 75% in developed countries. In either case, the statistics are staggering and not acceptable. The medical community has failed to identify intervention points efficiently. We recently completed a directed research at University of Southern California Sol Price School of Public Policy. Our study found early diagnosis and nano medicine based therapies as keys to a cancer free world. We have partnered with leading researchers from Stanford University to commercialize research - to bring nanotechnology based inexpensive diagnostic micro chips.

NANO PARTICLE CHARACTERIZATION

In order to understand targeted drug delivery, we need to understand ways to stabilize nano particles in real-time, so these nano particles can be effectively used as stable vessels to carry cancer drugs. Leading researchers in the field from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)  and Stanford University have joined our team. We are exploring ways to build commercialization channels for nano robotics for drug delivery.

STOPPING THE MUTATION PATHWAYS

Around the world, chemotherapy is seen as the widely accepted therapy for cancer, the process that often kills both good and bad cells in the entire region; and, significantly affects the overall health of the patients. We have found better, effective and precise ways to tackle the core, and stop the pathways for mutation of bad cancer cells.

MORE PATIENT DATA, LESS RESEARCH ON ANIMALS

We believe cancer patient data holds the true potential for future innovation in cancer medicine. We are partnering with a leading public-private led cancer tissue repository, to support our Explore Nano research and broader commercialization ecosystem.

EXPLORING PROTEIN BASED CANCER THERAPIES

Protein based nano medicine is proven to offer stable, personalized and effective cancer therapies. Unfortunately, protein based nano medicine is limited to developed healthcare economies. We plan to support, advocate for protein based cancer therapies in developing healthcare economies around the world.

RECONFIGURING NANOPARTICLES TO MAINTAIN TELOMERASE ACTIVITY

Telomerase is an enzyme made of protein and RNA subunits that elongates chromosomes. Maintaining healthy and long telemeres (a compound structure at the end of a chromosome) holds the secret behind slowing down the mutation of cancer cells. The subject of 2009 Nobel Prize in Medicine, we believe in expanding research in this area - to protect chromosomes, and keep telemerase activity high within cancer cells, to keep cancer cells from rapid deterioration.
